To avoid any misconceptions, I want to clarify that this article does not state that plants can do math or exhibit any sort of intelligence. Think of it more as a series of chemical reactions occurring inside the plant's cells that are triggered by this outside stimuli. These responses are totally automatic for the plant. It is really cool that the plant does this but it is not because the plant is getting "smarter". Think about how evolution works! Instead of saying that the plant is smart, let's say the plat is ADAPTED! :)
